At 26 weeks pregnant with my first child, my water broke. My husband and I had been keeping her gender a secret. We knew she was a baby girl and her name was Alexa Grace. When I was faced with reality that her life on earth may have only been those 26 weeks in my womb, my heart broke with knowing I had kept who she was hidden from the world.

I wanted her to be KNOWN.

As soon as anyone entered our hospital room, I excitedly shared her name! No matter how long her life on this side of the veil would be, she was going to the be celebrated and known in the earth.

Every life is worthy of being celebrated and known. If our God who is in heaven intentionally knows us before we breathe one breath on the earth, if He chose us before the foundation of the earth, then this life and all life, is worthy of being known.

It is my prayer for those who have lost a pregnancy to have the courage to ask the hard questions and seek the face of Jesus. He meets us where we are, and His presence is overwhelmingly available to mourning mothers.
